About

me

Through my own yoga journey, I've learned that, while yoga can be a lot of things, the only thing it should be is exactly what you need it to be each time you step onto your mat. As a teacher, my aim is to cultivate a warm, inviting, safe, and light-hearted space for yogis from all walks of life to discover whatever it is they seek in their practice. I encourage self-exploration & curiosity, and am a strong believer that yoga is still yoga even if there’s more laughter and levity than there is stoicism.

My long and beautiful relationship with yoga started early, with my mom’s “Beginner Yoga” DVDs I’d stumbled upon in our family’s TV console. But it wasn’t until my 20s that yoga made a home in my life in an irreversible way. In my early college years, I was battling bouts of depression and mania, having recently been diagnosed with generational bipolar disorder. In many ways, I felt lost in my own mind. Desperate to regain a sense of stability, it was then that I dove into yoga head first. Attending classes at the sweetest hot yoga studio, Five Points Yoga (Athens, GA), often twice a day, yoga truly felt like the only thing that could keep me grounded. It kept me centered as I navigated not only the insanity that is young adulthood, but the complexities of undiagnosed to diagnosed mental illness and embarking on the long, unforgiving journey toward emotional wellness.

In the many years between then and now, the depth of my practice has had its peaks and valleys. But the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 was the catalyst to a new level of commitment to my practice, and it’s been deepening more and more since then. The culmination of those years led to taking on 200-hour yoga teacher training with Mandy Roberts of {FORM} Yoga – having graduated in October of 2023.

As a human and a yoga teacher, I am a fierce advocate for taking what you need and leaving the rest (both on and off the mat). If you like intentionally syncing movement to breath, set to the backdrop of a pretty kick ass and meticulously crafted playlist, gently guided by someone who’s often been described as having “Mama Bear Energy” (oh, and you don’t mind your yoga teacher cursing… potentially a lot?) … then you just might want to check out one of my classes!
